Major Milestones: Crawling

May 4th, AB really started crawling. Before this date, she was up on her hands and knees making an attempt, but it never got her anywhere. This night, she was up and crawling around her room. The battery on the video camera went dead, so we quickly grabbed the camera. She's getting to be such a big girl.

It's Always Better to Have a Playmate

We were blessed enough to spend the day with Joey last Sunday. He came over after church and spent all day with us! We had so much fun! We love, love that little guy! He's just growing up so fast and getting to be such a smart and handsome boy. One thing he is GREAT at is taking care of his little cousin. He loves spending time with her, and best of all, is a great source of entertainment for AB. When I have something I'm doing that involves not being in the same room as her for any period of time, I either put her in her pack and play or in her exer-saucer, seeing as that she's crawling now. Neither one of these things really suffice anymore. She wants to be on the ground and on the go. So, as I was busy cleaning up on Sunday, I put her in her pack and play and she fussed. Joey looks at me and says, "Jen, can I get in there with her?" My response? "SURE!" I knew she would love that! Sure enough, she giggled and squealed and flapped her little arms around with excitment. She loved having her big cousin in there with her. It was too sweet not to capture on film. Check out their faces. They both love each other so much!

My First Mother's Day

Let me just say, that nothing could make my Mother's Day better than my sweet girl. I mean, I wouldn't have a purpose to celebrate Mother's Day for myself if it wasn't for her, obviously. It was a special weekend and I'm so proud and happy to be on the "mom" side of it this year. Saturday, Austin and I decided to have a date night and start the Mother's Day celebrations a little early. We went out to dinner Saturday night, and he gave me my wonderful Mother's Day presents. The first was a beautiful necklace with AB's birthstone in it (peridot). Then I opened up an envelope with a gift certificate to go get a mani and pedi! Whoo-hoo! I love my pedi's! Then he took me to dinner of my choice. I chose Olive Garden....I'm simple and it's one of my favs. The next morning, we got up to go to church, and we decided to go back to First Baptist, and boy, am I glad we did! Since Annabelle is crawling now, she's moved up Sunday School rooms and she's in Ms. Melissa's room. Hallelujah!!!! Melissa just happens to be one of my most favorite people in the whole world. I worked with Melissa for a couple of years when I was in college in this room. It was CRAZY to actually have my own baby in her Sunday School class. Crazy, but very special. When I picked her up, I got the best Mother's Day present I could ask for...sweet hand prints of my AB.

Who could ask for anything more than that! That Melissa, she's got a heart of gold! After church, we met my parents and my Granny at Carraba's for a yummy Mother's Day lunch. This was AB for the first part of lunch...

Sunday school always wears that girl out! Here's AB with two important Mother's in my life.

AB and Grammy

AB and GG
Grandpa, GG and Grammy with AB

Daddy, Mommy and AB (check out the look on her face - cracks me up!)

We LOVE our girl!

We just had to get in our famous kissing shot!

Best Mother's Day present EVER!

Snapped some quick pics in the car when we were leaving. Oh, how I love these two!

And...that's a wrap! Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

"Hmm...I wonder where that yummy yogurt melt I was eating, suddenly disappeared to?" - Annabelle

Another Doctor's Visit

Ok, so...we've been calling the doctor's office a lot, lately. AB's allergies, or at least that's what we are thinking they are, have been non-stop. Then, a couple of Sunday's ago, we noticed this...

She developed this ugly rash on her back. The day before on Saturday, we had spent a good part of the afternoon in Rockwall, outside at this outdoor crafts, jewelry, etc...fair. So, I was thinking maybe a heat rash. I'd never seen one before, so I wasn't sure. Then, Austin looked up "pet allergy symptoms" online, because we're afraid she's allergic to Bella, our cat. One of the symptoms was developing a rash, along with the runny nose and everything else she's had. So, I jetted out of work and took her to the doctor so they could determine what kind of rash it was. Dr. Straughn was booked up that day, so we saw Dr. Liu, instead. AB really liked Dr. Liu, and I enjoyed the visit, too. What was the rash caused from? Ready for this? Heat rash mixed with irritation from the tag on her shirt. Yes, folks. I drove all the way to Medical City for Dr. Liu to tell me my child was red and peely from her tag on her shirt. That's a first-time mom for you. Anyway, Dr. Liu was really nice and told me not to feel silly, because obviously the rash couldn't be diagnosed without them seeing it. I snapped a few pics of AB in the waiting room. She loves the doctor. I dread the day when she doesn't, anymore.

We have yet, another, doctor's appointment tomorrow. Today, AB got sick and Andrea thinks it really has to do with her allergy issues. I called her doctor, and he said since the Claritin or Zyrtec isn't working, then it's probably not allergies. So, off we go to the doctor tomorrow. More pics to come...

Curly Top

Well, not really! She's far from the Shirley Temple look, but AB has started to get her first curls. The hair over her ears is growing pretty long, and I contemplated cutting it for a long time. With the advice from friends, I decided not to, and now I'm so glad I didn't. It's starting to curl out and it's precious! Here's a few pictures I snapped of her little curls.
